About National General

IMPORTANT: National General (Allstate) is withdrawing from the Medicare Supplement market and is no longer accepting new enrollees as of 2026. This exit affects approximately 44,000 existing Medigap policyholders nationwide. Plans were underwritten by American Heritage Life Insurance Company (AM Best: A (Excellent), downgraded from A+ in May 2025) and National Health Insurance Company (AM Best: A (Excellent), affirmed August 2025). Existing policyholders will maintain their guaranteed-renewable coverage as long as premiums are paid, but may face higher-than-usual premium increases due to a shrinking risk pool. If you currently have a National General Medigap policy, you likely qualify for Guaranteed Issue rights, allowing you to switch to another carrier without medical underwriting.

Available Medigap Plans

All Medigap plans are standardized by federal law - a Plan G from National General offers identical benefits to a Plan G from any other carrier. The only difference is the premium.
